Movie Night
Trust me the car doesn't have a big role.
Jay Austin wants to sell you a car, and it doesn't matter to him how he does it. He is dishonest in his business, and that's exactly how he conducts his personal life as well. He is dishonest in all of his relationships - even his wife and son know they can't trust him. However, as Jay works on restoring a classic 1958 Triumph TR3A convertible, he comes face-to-face with the reality that his life is spinning out of control because of the choices he has made and the way he has conducted himself in his business and in his relationships. He resolves to give his life and his business over to God and make God the "Boss," and begins the ride of his life!
Despite the fact that selling cars at honest prices may cause him to loose his business (as it would have been a struggle even at the dishonest prices he had been selling cars), he decides that he is going to be honest in all of his dealings. He gives the business over to God and says that it is His car lot and He can do with it as He pleases. If the business goes under, then it is because God allowed it; if the business succeeds it will be because God saved it... all he desires is to finish well by honoring God with the way he conducts his business, and indeed to honor God in all of his relationships.
That's the summary.
Honestly after watching 'Facing the Giants' made by the same church. I found it quite dull. However, all in all it was a good movie.

MSSM
Two things:
1) The sun was being mean again.
2) VIPs' talk toooooooooooooooo loooonnnnnnnggggggggggg....................
Percussions' doing their warm-ups.
The entire band doing warm-ups.
'Go vin!!'
Luckily the sun was only out during our warm-ups. During the actual ceremony it was fairly cloudy. Thank God for the the clouds. One of Gods' greatest creations are clouds. If it weren't cloudy, a lot of people would have fainted. And we were wearing full uniform to boot.
Waiting for the ceremony to start.
Anyways, the band was the lead contingent. We played 'In The Stone'(Gasph) and 'Apple Pie March'. I sorta pity Boys' Brigade(BB) cause they had to play a lot longer than us. However, we had to perform a formation show after the extremely long speeches and ceremony.
Us starting to march.
March Pass. Salute!
BB.
Listening to VIPs' talking.
Colour Guards. haha
I say we did quite well considering we only had 4 days to prepare the formation. We played 'Ancora" the revised version without the trumpet solo. I only wish we could have been louder.
Ah well, no use crying over split milk.
Tanah Pusaka.
After the performance we did a static song 'Tanah Pusaka' and out march out song was a small portion of 'Mara Bahaya'. We took quite a long time to get back to school, cause our bus was blocked. Then we changed bus and shared with the Chinese Orchestra. Oh yes, there was a lot of coupling in the bus. Hahaha.
LxWN, MxN, MxA.
THANK YOU!! Kaster and Julian for sacrificing your time to train us. THANK YOU!!
Till whenever.

Band Training
I've come up with a formula:
Band x 2(Hot Sun x No Wind) = Completely exhaustion.
I honestly am surprised I still have energy to type this. Not to say that band is not fun, it's fun but VERY tiring. However the end results are good.
Now the reason why we're having our intense band practice is cause our school is hosting the inter-school sports' day(MSSM). So, we being the hosting school have to put a good show for the opening and ending ceremony. Sadly we're not getting paid.*sigh*
Our principal wants us to put on a good show. So hes' turned 'kind' and actually let us practice during school hours. AND the field actually belongs to us for the next few days. It's so cool to finally not have to fight for the field.
The following are picture of out practice. Photos are courtesy of Leslie Wong, but taken by my camera.
Woodwinds' doing their warm-up.
Clarinets.
'It's like this and this...'
'Eh? How to play?'
'Oh, I see...'
Piccolo
Lepak!
Beras... oh sorry, Brass
Trumpets!! Angle!!
Lower Brass, Sorry trombones.
'Wadcha looking at??'
'Wadup?'
'1,2,3,4!'
'Dum ka! dumdum dumdum ka!'
Together now.
That's all.

Female Drum major
Female Drum major!!
Well, to sort of spoil it. Shes actually a conductor drum major(<-Just made this name up dunno what's the real name). Her name is Bethaine Aik. But everyone just calls her beth. She's a good person. Very musically talented and she a very nice, fun, and responsible girl. Thats true but she can be really mean when she wants to be.(sorry beth)
Concentration!!
Look at that concentration. If your look closely your can see her frowning. Now now beth it's not good to frown, you'll get more wrinkles.LOL.
The mase is almost as tall as her 0_o
That's one of our instructors teaching beth how to properly spin the mase (correct?).
'what the...'
Then she found out that I was taking pictures of her and gave 'the' look.
Band is tiring.
No, that is not me.It's my friend. I took a picture of her sleeping.Serious!!
Till next time,
Ja-ne!
P\s If this post is insulting to you beth. You have my most sincere apology. And if you want me to take off this post, just tell me. I'll do it ASAP.

"Rebirth" of the Band
Green Road School Band died on 11th June 2008(I think). However like a phoenix rising from its' ashes we have been reborn in the form of Green Road School Marching Show Band(GRSMSB) aka Green Chords!!(Yes I know it's a very long name)
Yes people!!(If you even care) we're back, and we're different from before. I'm not gonna say in what way cause I don't really know.Oops... Besides I don't wanna make false or exaggerated statements.
If you wanna know more(which I doubt you do) wait till the state level competition 2009 in someplace-not-in-Kuching.
Sidenote: This event of "rebirth" happened quite a while back.
Till next time,

New music stand
Anyway the stand cost me RM 40, but I got a 10% discount so I got it for only Rm 36.Wahahaha. The stand is fully stainless steel so hopefully it won't rust. Since, it's stainless steel its all sliver(Duh) so it'll probably stand out. Oh dear.....
It comes in 2 pieces.
What it look like when its assembled.
What's so cool about it is, it's got clips to lock the stand instead of your standard screws on normal stand. So it's a lot easier and faster to set-up and keep the stand.
CLIPS!!!!
Well that's all for now, till next time.
