Band Memento's

While we were cleaning the band room we found a lot of old band stuff. We found memento's like our old band logo and stuff like that.

These are a couple of old band memento's that I found.

Our old Drum major badge.

Back when we had ranking like the military.

Recorder Band?

This is probably eons old. I think the last time we were called recorder band was like 20-30 years ago.

Back when we were still called Brass Band.

Same badge, just a different coloured background.

I have no idea why our school badge was in there.

That's all.

Band room cleaning.

Today Kester decided that the band room needed a overhaul. So the afternoon members started cleaning, and the morning session members joined after school.

The last time we REALLY cleaned the band room as like 2 years ago, so the band room was really dusty. And some of our boxes were termite ridden. A lot of old stuff were chucked out or kept by the band members.

Look at all the boxes.

Look at the mess.

Where are all the boxes?

Unwanted items.

Loose items.

I don't know whether the band room is clean or not cause I had to leave in the middle.

Band Camp- Epilouge

Band Camp. In the past the phrase meant holiday and fun. Now its means formation, music, sun, exhaustion, stress, and alot of other things. But most importantly it's mean when the Green Road Band get together and fights together to accomplish what we do.

During the past eight days I'm sure the band members have experienced something that will change them forever. I have.

I have felt exhaustion like never before. I have had a HUGE headache for 3 days. I have had a high fever for 2 days. I have felt stress like never before. I have been pushed to my limits and beyond.

However, the thing which I have learned the most and will forever change me is that, I have learned to never ever give up and to keep fight thing to the very end.

This band camp has been a life changing experience for me. I hope it has been for everybody who has participated in it.

GREEN CHORDS FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Band Camp Day 7-Finale

Today was the last day of our first Band Camp 2009. For some odd reason we had two extreme weathers today.

In the morning it was like super hot there wasn't a cloud in sight.

'Oh where, oh where can all the clouds be?. Oh where, oh where can they be?'
I'm not kidding there wasn't a cloud in sight.

Then there was a heavy downpour of rain in the afternoon.

For a change we had a aerobic session with the parents in the morning. I think they enjoyed it very much. After that we did formation.

In the afternoon, we did music followed by formation again. It started raining when we wanted to do formation again. We achieved our target for this band camp. I'm not gonna say what.

Later that night, we had a potluck dinner with all the parents of the members. The dinner was fun and filling. haha

Band Camp Day 5

Today only the wind section came for practice. Meaning everybody else except the Drumline & the Colour Guards.

It was REALLY hot today, hardly a cloud in sight. We did formation in the morning. I actually forgot that I had tuition that morning, but my mum called to remind me so I had to go.

I went back to band during lunch break. We did music. We had to stick our glove into our instrument bells to practice our sound. My head felt like bursting. My head still hurts. Then I had to go to tuition AGAIN(So many tuitions today).

WE DON'T HAVE NIGHT PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!!! Finally a night to rest and actually have a holiday.

Band Camp Day 4

Band was the same. Tiring but fun.
We did formation for the whole morning and, music and formation in the afternoon. I went for my PBK tuition during the afternoon, so I only came back around 6.

We had a Parent-Teacher-Instructor- Member gathering at night. We performed a portion of our formation and our music piece. The colour guards performed a short show as well.

Then there was a slide show and refreshments after that.

Day 5 next. Fight!!

Bnad Camp Day 3

I'm alive!!!! I haven't died yet. That's probably cause today was not as intense as the other days.

1) We didn't do physical training. Dunno why, but I am really grateful.
2) It rained in the afternoon, so it wasn't as hot.
3) We did music practice the whole afternoon so my feet don't hurt as much.

Unfortunately, I had to go to piano class from 3-5, so I didn't participate in the whole music practice. However, I managed to come back in time for our tracking practice.

Night practice was normal.

Band Camp Day 2

*There will no more pictures for the rest of the band camp post, cause I have no energy to take them. If they are... then your lucky.

Okay. I survived day 2. Big surprise. I really thank God that I felt better. Yesterday I had a major headache, high fever, and a really bad sore throat. I still have a slight sore throat and a bit of headache, but other than that I'm ok.

So as usual we had our physical training. I felt a bit nauseous but I didn't throw-up. Later we did formation till lunch break. We didn't have any break from around 9:40am-11:45am. Thats like 2 hours++ under the scorching hot sun. Lunch was like a revival pack for me.

In the afternoon, we did music practice. After that we did formation again, but we were just marking and memorising our position. We did till set 40.

I didn't go for night practice cause I had to go to my add maths tuition. However I heard that the badn did until set 26 with marching.

Wish me luck for day 3.

Odd birds

I saw a pair of strange coloured birds today. I mean strange as in they were not the normal brown sparrows you find around. I think they might have been parrots or something like that.

It's a bird, no it's a plane....wait...it's a parrot???

See what I mean ,when was the last time you saw 2 green coloured with yellow crest birds. And in a pet shop doesn't count.

Neck-extension.

Band Camp Day 1

I seriously dunno how I'm going to survive the other 6 days of band camp. 1 Day and i feel like my legs are gonna drop of. Thank goodness that I have Sunday to rest. Colour Guard & Drumline have to go tomorrow. They have my best regards.

Well band started as usual, the murdering physical exercise. Then we studied how to read the new formation format. Super complicated.

It's like Left is Right & Right is Left. There's Home and Visitor, which has forward and backward. Then there's Yard Line, 0, 5, 10, & 15. And so on and so forth, too lazy to type everything.

Our formation field.

If you can see, its our chalk markings.

After morning practice we had our lunch. The food was provided but our school canteen. It's was better than the normal food they sell. But I was so hungry I personally didn't care.

Food & Drinks.

Julian, Edward,(not me) & Kester eating.

Us getting ready to eat lunch.

Us eating.

'No pictures please.'

Band members wolfing down their food.

I drank that much liquids in one meal.

'Pondering........'

After lunch we had afternoon practice. We did mostly music cause its was raining and most of us didn't bring our raincoat. We practice a our formation piece arranged by our very own Julian Evans.

Us waiting for afternoon practice to start.

After afternoon practice we had our dinner break. We had fried chicken with rice and some cabbage.

Dinner!!

Eating in neat rows.

Then we had night practice. We managed to do till Set 12, which apparently was very good. We only had two spotlights so its was quite dim. Our band room had no electricity so it was pitch black. Luckily I had my torches.

It's not very clear but its arranged from the tallest to the shortest. And this arrangement was by accidental. It's a picture of my section by th way, Trumpet section.

'Aah! I can't see!'

Well that concludes Day 1 of of our Band camp.

Ja-ne!!

LIberation

Finally after two weeks I'm free of exams and studying for 1 week. But wait, when you think your free, they keep pulling you back in.

Now I've got a Band Camp this whole holiday week. It's Saturday. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday again. It's also till night too boot. 7:30am-9:30pm, thats like 14 HOURS!!. I'll probably die from exhaustion or something like that.

What a way to spend a holiday. So when I go back to school, everybody will be like, ' I went here, I went there', and I'll be like 'I was in school.' Sigh.....

Well no use complaining and bickering about it.

Twilight.

No, I'm not talking about the book or the movie. So if anyone is reading this thinking its about 'Twilight' the book or the movie, it's not.

I was waiting for jon to pick me up and go to tuition when I saw the sky. I though it was cool so I took a picture of it.

Red means there's alot of C02 in the air.

It's like day and night together. Night on the left, and day on the right. Really beautiful. The picture doesn't justify the beauty of the scenery.

P/s I'm not a 'Twilight' fan.
