The Amazing Mall Race.

Earlier this holiday, The Star newspaper organised a race in tHe spring mall, and called it 'The Amazing Mall Race'. how chessie can you get?

This was in collaboration of the release of the Sarawak Edition of The Star papers. For those of you who don't know. The Star is normally printed in West Malaysia and flown over to Sarawak and Sabah. But now, they've set a printing centre here. Meaning, we now get The Star faster and cheaper!

To participate in this race you need to be in teams of 2. So my friend Barnaby and I decided to joined the race. Our group name was B.E. No prizes for guessing what they mean.

Other than the 2 of us, there was another pair of friends who joined as well. Katrice and Shannon with the group name 'Blueberry Pie'.

Before the actual race, there were a couple of games played. One of them was where 2 teams had 3 minutes to solve a jigsaw blox puzzle. Now the host said that the IQ of a 5 year old child could solve it.

So my friend and I decided to give it a try......

3 minutes later.........................................................................

The puzzle still wasn't done... I suppose that means the combined IQ of the 2 of us is lower than of a 5 years old child..

NO! The other group stole our pieces!

Haha. But we still got prizes for participating anyway.

So, on the to race itself.

It started out with 20 teams. We all had to race to Starbucks and the Blue Cube (which happen to be on opposite ends of the mall) take something from them and then take a picture there. Only the top 10 teams would move on to the next round.

Despite having a 5 second head start, we still ended up getting 3rd place for that round. SOMEHOW, the pair in front of us beat us. Why am I saying that? Cause the girl was wearing a super short miniskirt!

How on Earth are you suppose to run in that? Someone please tell me.

For the second round, we had to run to 6 different locations in tHe Spring and receive a chop from them and take a picture. Note: During both rounds, we all had to have a copy of The Star with us. The first 5 would move on.

Sadly... we came in 7th.................sigh......

However.................................................................................................... by some miracle the last 6 teams all didn't complete one task. So we were still in the game.

To decide which team got into the finals, we had a quiz, which we sadly didn't win. But the Blueberry Pie won it.

For the last round, each team was give RM 20 and asked to buy,
1) A hot drink.
2) A cold drink.
3) A canned drink
4) A rice meal.

The team who spent closes to RM 20 would win.

And the winning team is................

Blueberry Pie!!!!

who won loads of vouchers and RM 200!!!!

I want!!

Here are the stuff we won.

and all the envelopes it came in

Something on the Starbucks voucher caught my eye.

You mean I have to go all the way down to Precinct 88 for a cupp of coffee!!???
Bah

By the time the race was over, our paper looked like this

Despite not being able to use the vouchers at Starbucks in tHE spring, that didn't stop us from going over to enjoy a cup of coffee and some sinfully rich fattening cheese cake.

hehe....
