Food, food and more food

Over the holidays, my sister came back and went on a food making spree.

First up, was a not so quite nice batch of cupcakes. The white stuff on top are melted marshmallows.

Next up is, is pancakes. Damn these were good.

Pancakes and honey. A good way to start a day.

Followed by, bread.......... Okay, I have to be quite honest here. I didn't like it at all. It didn't taste like bread. If I have had eaten cardboard before, that would be how it tasted. And it was dry and flaky. Makes you appreciate the bread from the bakery.

Here's the best part, for my mums' birthday. My sister cooked the entire meal. With my help... sort of....

For the entree,

Mushroom soup. Slightly bitter, but really nice. Not a tin to boot. Made from real mushrooms, and other ingredients. Toped with some cream and a sprinkle of chives.

For the main course,

Seafood spaghetti using angle's hair and carbonara sauce. This was simply exquisite. Wipes drool of the keyboard

For dessert,

Mango and dragonfruit served with a scoop of ice-cream and Kit-Kat.

What is a birthday without a birthday cake. Chocolate cake.

Why go spending a 100 buck on a fancy dinner, when you can have one at home?

And that concludes the birthday saga.

Anyway, on Friday we made sushi!! By we, I mean my sister only.

First off, you need one of these. A sushi making kit. My mum got while she was traveling. Wahahahahaha.

It has everything you need. From an instruction manual, to the rice needed, to the mat needed to roll them up, to the seaweed and the wasabi. They even give you soy sauce!

Oh wait I forgot the vinegar needed for the rice.

So here's the sushi.

Yum....

Now, one of my personal favorites is cookies!!

Not just any cookies, GIANT cookies.

They were, as I would call it 'fluffy'

Now, second chance. Cupcake making time again. And this time it was really good.

I think I gained weight this holiday.

Ja-ne!!
